Great Garden

[[Great garden->Nurgle's Garden]] Ripe with rot Bubbling rivers slivering across Bloated and corrupted ground Of insect ravaged soil Simple and complex fungi Puffing out vile spores Vast and abundant forests Trees weeping sickly sap With vines grasping those Unlucky enough to enter This realm of chaos [[Black flies->Bloatflies]] clouding the sky, buzzing with glee [[Strange small green blobs->Nurglings]] Running around causing Mischief with wide grins Joyous is the life That roams within Thriving on diseased souls Frolicking through blighted fields The one who tends This bountiful land spilling over With countless unknown [[plagues->Plagues of Nurgle]] Is known as [[Grandfather->Grandfather Nurgle]] At the gardens heart He stirs his cauldron Creating new life With increasing power So does his garden bloom Encroaching on its neighbors Many see him as a cruel lord Crafting and releasing his works Across the many planets that Litter this galaxy brimming With sentient beings He sees not the wrong But rather that he is gracious And betstows these putrid Presents wrapped with maggots And other carriers that deliver These rancid packages Mere mortals beg for These [[blessed gifts->Nurgle's Contagions]] of Decay so that their wretched Pains may be eased And their screams of Agony may be at last silenced Paradise of pestilence

In particular, the emotion of despair in mortals empowers the Plague God. While Nurgle is the god of death and decay, it is also the god of rebirth. Decay is simply one part of the cycle of life, without which no new life could grow. In the same way, Nurgle is also the god of perseverance and survival.

This 'garden' is not a barren wasteland, but rather a macabre paradise of death and pestilence. A thick sheet of buzzing swarms of black, furry flies litter the sky, and twisted, rotten boughs entangled with grasping vines cover the mouldering ground, beneath an insect-ravaged canopy of leaves. Defiled fungi both plain and extraordinary break through the leaf-strewn mulch of the forest floor, puffing out vile clouds of spores. Muddy rivers slither across the bloated landscape.

<img src= https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/complete/full/2021/12/13/1639439519442517.png> Nurglings, also known as "Mites of Nurgle," "Gleeful Castoffs", "Tiny Plagues" or by their daemonic name Khan'gurani'i in the Dark Tongue, are tiny, mischievous Lesser Daemons of Nurgle. They are surely some of the most numerous and among the most favoured children of Grandfather Nurgle. Even their appearance is pleasing to the Plague God, for each Nurgling is like a minute copy of the dread master himself.

With their innards thus infected, these predators sicken, vomiting the contents of their guts all across the garden as they fly about and eventually exploding in showers of life-giving flesh and blood. This bounty of mutated and mutilated tissue falls into new areas of the Garden beneath, decaying into compost and starting the cycle of life and death anew.

Nurgle's gifts can take many forms, including physical mutations, daemon weapons or particularly foul diseases.

Nurgle's Rot: the most feared of Nurgle's many contagions. The afflicted is eventually transformed into a Plaguebearer. Zombie Plague: victims of this infection return from the dead as undead zombies. Gellerpox: Targets operators of Geller Fields. Other named plagues include: The Death Dance, Bulging Eye, Creeping Buboes, Crook Bone, Grey Ague and Green Pox.

Welcome to this interactive poem. This poem is about a place that resides in the universe of Warhammer 40k. In this grim dark universe it 40,000 years in the future where there is constant war and armies clash against eachover on war-torn worlds. In this there exist a multitude of factions including various aliens, mutants, super soldiers, and forces of chaos such as demons.
